We see no better way to kick off 2019 that with a “5K Love Run\u201d!<\/p>\n

Our Bellalago community came together to spread the love to the \u201cBeyond Type 1” organization raising an outstanding $3,185.00. Beyond Type One was “Founded in 2015 by Juliet de Baubigny, Nick Jonas, Sarah Lucas + Sam Talbot, Beyond Type 1 is leveraging the power of social media and technology, changing what it means to live with a chronic disease. By educating the global community about this autoimmune disease, as well as providing resources and supporting those living with Type 1 diabetes, Beyond Type 1 is bridging the gap from diagnosis to cure, empowering people to live well today and funding a better tomorrow.” We have also been featured on the Beyond Type 1 fundraising awareness page! Beyond Type One is close to our hearts and we look forward to making a difference with our future fundraising events.<\/p>\n

This 5K had 95 registrations and 77 race day runners. The runners ranging from ages 6 years old to 69 years old met at the Bellalago start line with their game faces on, that cool Saturday morning. Fitness Instructor Katherine started off the morning with an upbeat warm up leading into the National Anthem lead by OCSA Alumni Jeanelly Aviles. With just a few minutes to spare, everyone took their mark and prepared to take off at the sound of the horn. The countdown began, \u201c3-2-1 GO”!. They were off, tackling the streets of Bellalago. Water stations were placed around the course for those needing to quench their thirst during the race.<\/p>\n

This 5k course was certified and relatively flat with very small inclines. The faces of excitement but at the same time winded, started to come in at just under 20 minutes. The Bellalago Team and volunteers cheered them on as all 77 racers finished receiving individually their medals of completion. An outstanding 22 trophies were issued to winning participants. We can\u2019t forget the kids that enjoyed the bounce house manned by the boy scouts volunteers, they had a blast!<\/p>\n

We were extremely fortunate to have received great support from local volunteers and vendors and we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge them.<\/p>\n
