Here at Victoria Park we like to bring families together for the holidays! This year we kicked off the holiday season with an outdoor viewing of Frozen the movie, a holiday favorite for the entire family to enjoy! Our Elsas, Annas, and Kristoffs of Victoria Park came dressed up in their favorite Frozen costumes, prepared to sing-a-long to the movie.

The theme of this year’s annual holiday event was The Nutcracker, held on December 9, 2017, in the Village Center located within Victoria Park. With approximately 250 residents in attendance, this event was once again a success! Hayrides, face painting, bounce houses, a DJ, festive crafts for the children, and a petting zoo set the mood for a great evening of holiday fun! To embrace the theme of this year’s event, a Nutcracker stilt walker was in attendance to greet and take photos with attendees. As it snowed in front of our local ice cream shop, Simply Sweet, bells rang, and horns sounded as Santa arrived in an old-fashioned fire truck. Children and parents cheered and rejoiced as Santa greeted them.

As the holiday season wrapped up, our last event of the season, Dinner at Santa’s Workshop, was a night of holiday cheer and family fun. Dinner was served at Hopkins Hall located in Lake Helen, Florida, and catered by Let’s Party Catering company based out of DeLand, Florida. As dinner was being served, three knocks were heard throughout the room. Santa had arrived! Children gasped and cheered in excitement! Santa stopped at each table to hug and greet families. Children had the opportunity to share their gift lists and take photos with Santa.

We thank our vendors, and local restaurants, Simply Sweet, Village Café, and Vic’s Pub and Grill for their participation in The Nutcracker by supplying food, beverages, and sweets to our residents. We also thank our high school volunteers for taking the time out to help set up and assist residents at event stations.

We would like to wish the families of Victoria Park a warm and Happy New Year!
